If your gun fails to fire, you MUST wait at least one minute before opening the breach. Muzzle control at all times is imperative!!! Please do not discard the misfired rounds in the garbage. Please dispose of the shell in a safe manner.
What is a "Team":
A team will be made up of 3 or more shooters
Teams can be made up of friends and acquaintances but are also a great way to meet new people
Each team member will take a turn operating the station traps and scoring the other shooters
Please try to limit the number of "show me" launches of the clays
Try to rotate your order so that one shooter does not always shoot first at each station
You should start scoring in the proper row of the scoring card:
- If you start on station 5, start scoring on row 5 of the scoring card
Each box of the scoring card represents a shot:
- An "X" is a hit and an "O" is a miss
- A shot is considered a "hit" if the clay breaks in any way. Even a small "chip" is considered a hit
The person doing the scoring has the final word on a hit or a miss
At the end of the morning and afternoon shoot can all shooters please clean up the spent hulls and empty shell boxes on the ground
Explanation of the trap pairs:
- True Pairs: Two clays are launched at the same time
- Following Pairs: Launch the first clay then immediately "follow" with the second clay
- Report Pairs: Launch the first clay then wait for the guns "report" before launching the second clay
Trap machines:
Manual trap machines:
* The clays are to be located on the ground to the LEFT side of the machine
* Do NOT walk away from the machine while it is "armed"
* Be careful! The machine WILL hurt you if you get too close!!!
* Be careful your free hand does not get hit!!!
* Watch where you put your head!... these suckers can smack your noggin real hard!!!
Automatic trap machines:
* If you are not familiar with these machines do NOT attempt to fix or unjam them!
* Stay away from the front and sides of the machine
* Do not grab or move the machine from the cage that holds the clays (it bends to easy)
